Zambia: Mwale, Chembo Win Coaches Body's Kudos

ZAMBIA Football Coaches Association (ZAFCA) Ndola branch has saluted its members Masautso Mwale and Tenant Chembo for their good performance at Nkana and Zesco United, respectively this year.
Mwale guided Nkana to their first league win since 2001, while Zesco under Chembo finished runners-up in the 2013 MTN Premier Division League.
Ndola publicity secretary, Emmanuel Mwelwa said Mwale did well at Nkana by helping the Kitwe giants claim their record 12th championship, stunning the league favourites.
Mwelwa, however, appealed to Mwale to reinforce his squad before heading into the 2014 CAF Champions League competition where they would be Zambia's envoys.
On Chembo, Mwelwa said the ZAFCA Ndola members were pleased that the Zesco executive committee exercised patience with the coach until he delivered a runners-up spot which guarantees the Ndola club a slot in the CAF Confederation Cup next year.
"As Ndola coaches, we are proud of the performance of two of our own members in the 2013 season.
We thank Zesco United executive committee for being patient with coach Tenant Chembo and congratulations to coach Masautso Mwale for guiding Nkana to the first league title since 2001," he said in an interview yesterday.
Mwelwa urged both Nkana and Zesco to prepare adequately for their respective continental competitions and that the Ndola coaches were confident the two teams would represent Zambia well.
The Ndola coaches also paid tribute to their other member Stephen Mwansa for propelling Indeni back to the MTN Premier Division League after finishing second on the Division One North log behind National Assembly.
Mwelwa said the coaches were also happy with the strides being made by newcomers in the FAZ league, Premium Sports who are being tutored by Sam Phiri and Francis Litana.
